MISSION STATEMENT AND COVENANT OF RIGHT RELATIONS FOR FUUCYA
The young adults group of FUUCA exists to…
- promote fellowship among its members, as well as between young adults and the larger church community;
- generate social capital, inspiring and fulfilling our mission of social justice and action;
- provide a safe, respectful, and dynamic space for spiritual and moral questioning, education, and growth; and
- encourage mindful observation of significant spiritual moments through world traditions and modern rituals.
To promote this mission, we covenant with each other to act in accordance with our shared values at all meetings, formal and informal.
Specifically, we agree that right relations require:
- an explicit purpose of meeting agreed upon by all members present, established or new;
- a balanced attitude of serious engagement in that purpose and good humor in achieving it;
- equal contributions from all members;
- individual responsibility and maturity in self-monitoring our interactions in and contributions to the group, adjusting our behavior as needed to maintain balance of shared time and resources; and
- a spirit of respect and appreciation for all contributions as well as individual differences in our preferred style or type of contribution.
As such, we covenant to do all we can to establish and maintain this environment.
