Library

The FUUCA Library is a collection of books and other printed and audio-visual media owned by the congregation. The library is located in room 6. Library visitors are welcome to check out materials or read them in the library.

Online Catalog

Our collection of materials may be searched using our online catalog , which can search by title, author, and/or collection category for the term you enter and will list any matching books that are in the catalog.

Borrowing

Check-out is on the honor system.  Books may be borrowed for a period of 3 weeks and renewed for an additional 3 weeks.  To borrow a book, please fill out the information on the sheet in the “Library Register” binder on the shelf in the library.  An e-mail reminder will be sent to your e-mail address if you have written it in the register.

Library Hours

The library is open Sunday 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and Monday-Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The library is closed on Saturdays.

How is the library organized?

The library is organized by Dewey Decimal number, then alphabetically by the author’s last name. If you are interested in a particular subject matter (for instance, Buddhism,) you may wish to browse the subject collections in our online catalog, or you can view the subject collections printed out in the “Library Register” binder.

Donations

The library committee welcomes and appreciates donations to the collection that meet our needs as set forth in our Collection Development Policy. In order to allow the committee sufficient time to process any donations, we currently request that you only donate five books per week.

Meeting Space

The library may be used as a meeting space for small meetings of less than 8 people. Please be sure to reserve the space via the Room Reservation Request prior to use. In order to accommodate the period of most frequent use by the congregation, the library cannot be reserved as a meeting space between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Sundays.
