- The Memorial/Endowment group assists with maintenance of the church’s butterfly wall memorial and oversees memorial contributions to First UU Church. Contact:
The Denominational Affairs Committee keeps the church informed about Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) events and opportunities and helps members find additional UU learning opportunities outside of our church. Contact:
The Membership Committee facilitates joining the church as a member, welcomes visitors and new members, and creates events where new members can interact with long-term members. Contact:
Social Action Committee: First UU Church of Austin is dedicated to service locally, nationally and globally. Through social action and outreach, we live our church mission to nourish souls, transform lives and do justice. Contact:
The Stewardship Committee handles the pledges and donations given to the church and coordinates the annual Stewardship Campaign. Contact:
Spirituality
- Evensong provides an opportunity for new and old members to share spiritual beliefs and experiences, and is a great way to get to know your friends at First UU. Contact:
- Philosophical Inquiry Group meets on Sundays in Room 6 at 9:30 a.m. The group engages in unstructured discussion, and topics are decided upon each Sunday morning. Contact:
- The Recovery Circle for Alternative Faiths is an inclusive recovery group for Atheists, Pagans, and anyone whose faith preference is not “mainstream”. Our intention is to open a door for healing and hope, tolerance and growth. If you are interested in working on additional issues, this is a safe and welcoming environment. Come and explore the possibilities with us. The group meets Wednesdays at 7:30 pm at one of two private homes.
