Children’s Choir Directors

Danielle SloanDanielle Solan, Director of the FUUCA Elementary Choir, has delighted in teaching music to children for nine years, in Austin for the last five of them. She is the general music teacher at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary School and the Violin Coordinator for the Manor Independent School District. Highlights of her career have been to teach music in Panama, Ecuador, and Japan. Danielle has a Master’s degree in Music & Human Learning from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Music Education and Bassoon Performance from Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio. Her hobbies include traveling, creative writing, and doing yoga.

 

 

Kelan LatimerKelan Latimer, Director of the FUUCA Secondary Choir, has been a choral educator for over ten years and is currently the Director of Choirs and AP Music Theory at Lake Travis High School. Kelan is a proud product of Texas music, having received his earliest instruction in the music programs of the Duncanville ISD and culminating in earning his Bachelor’s of Music degree from Texas State University in San Marcos. His performance credits include bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Rutter’s
Mass of the Children, and the role of Balthazar in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. In his spare time he enjoys reading, watching movies, and making music with friends.
