For Volunteers

Our camp counts on enthusiastic volunteers to help make it magical. Some people want to help but don’t know where help is needed or what type of help to give! Here are some brief descriptions of many of the Hogwarts volunteer duties. We can use your help for a few hours or all week! Fill out the volunteer interest survey. Please contact with any questions. All adult volunteers must have a background check completed.

Volunteer Jobs:

  • House Elf:  This is our most flexible volunteer opportunity.  A house elf would have opportunities to assist professors and campers throughout the day.  Some examples of jobs a house elf might sign up to do: assist professors and directors (daily 8:30-12:30), prepare and monitor AM/PM snacks (10 AM, 3 PM), monitor campers at lunch (12:30-1:00), assist in afternoon activities (after 1 PM). Flexible time, hours, and days.
  • Professor:  A professor would teach a 45 minute class with roughly 15-20 campers.  This would be 4 times in one day or daily as your schedule permits.  A professor has the flexibility to request curriculum and materials or to create their own magical class.  We love new ideas!  (T, W, TH and/or Friday 9:45-12:30)
  • Quidditch Coach: This is an outdoor activity that is an annual tradition at Hogwarts.  We have equipment and rules of the game. This is a daily morning activity (8:30-9:15)
  • Wizard Chess:  Another outdoor activity that is an annual tradition at Hogwarts.  We also include rules and equipment (water balloons) for this activity.  This is a daily morning activity (8:30-9:15)
  • Prep Crew: Before camp, we transform the church into Hogwarts.  This would be Sunday afternoon, July 23.  We also are doing a materials prep the Saturday 7/15.
  • Clean-Up Crew:  Friday afternoon after camp is over, we take down decorations and store them in the room of requirement.
  • Daily Clean-Up Crew: Helpers are needed at the end of each day to clean up and prepare for the next day’s activities. (M, T, W, TH 4:00-5:00)
  • Great Feast: The last hurrah at camp every year is the Great Feast.  Friday at 1 PM parents and campers gather together for an amazing meal prepared and served by volunteers.  We also need help setting up and cleaning  the Great Hall for the Feast.
  • Prefect Party Organizer:  Each year on Friday afternoon, the prefects get a break to celebrate the end of camp.  An organizer would order/purchase food and snacks.
  • Field Trip Driver/Chaperones:  We need drivers for our field trips afternoons at 2 PM.  We also need chaperones.  Some examples of past field trips are swimming and bowling at nearby locations. Note these trips may change annually.
  • E.L.F.S (Enriching Life through Fun and Service): Each afternoon the campers participate in a social justice activity.  If you have a passion for a cause, we can work together to create an activity.  (Afternoons M, T, W, TH 12:30-2:30)
  • Diagon Alley: On Monday, the Diagon Alley shopkeepers help campers choose cloaks and make wands, quills, and galleons. (M, 9:45am-12:30pm)
