Women are welcome to come join us without having read the book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">In addition to our twice-monthly circle, we celebrate the pagan calendar, celebrating summer and winter solstices and spring and winter equinoxes.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\">December 19, 10:30-12:30 or 1:30 in Room 13<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\">Winter Solstice Celebration:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">We are inviting past members of Women&#8217;s Spirituality Group to join us this year for a reunion celebration. If you know women who have been members of our group, please invite them to come. As usual, we are an open group for any women to join us. \u00a0We&#8217;ll have a Solstice Pageant, sing Solstice Carols, and have potluck snacks afterward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">As a Unitarian Universalist (UU) group, we are noncreedal and welcome women of diverse spiritual perspectives. We meet in circle to create sacred space as we focus on the themes of women&#8217;s spirituality and create our own earth-based rituals. Our structure is based on shared leadership and concensus decision making. As a feminist group, we strive to be egalitarian, non-hierarchical, and accepting of diversity. As a spiritual group, we value regular attendance, believing that our spiritual bonds are thus strengthened.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">We connect with each other as we explore our inner power.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">We listen to each other as we tell our personal stories.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">We define and create our values.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Through our rituals, we create a sacred space in which we honor ourselves as women.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">We read, study, and discuss works by women writers to connect with women throughout time and learn from their wisdom.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"> We also celebrate life-passage events, creating rituals for birthdays, a Maiden Ritual for young women, a Queen of Myself Ritual for midlife empowerment, and a Croning ritual for the elders of the group. We also walk the labyrinth together. Values include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Reverence for the Earth and respect for the interdependent web of life<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Celebration of the seasons and cycles in nature and in our lives<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Community building based on consensus, shared responsibility, and respect for diversity<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Honoring women and the sacredness of the female<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Importance of rituals and the creation of sacred space<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Spiritual values woven into the fabric of everyday life<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Vision of world peace, social justice, and environmental harmony<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">The Women\u2019s Spirituality Group began in 1984.
