Brent Baldwin<\/strong> is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and conductor, and we are fortunate to have him as the First UU Director of Music and First UU Adult Choir<\/strong><\/a> conductor since 1999. He holds a Master\u2019s degree in choral conducting from the University of Texas at Austin<\/a>, where he was assistant conductor for the Early Music Ensemble<\/a>, New Music Ensemble<\/a>, Longhorn Singers<\/a>, Concert Chorale, and the Chamber Singers. Brent serves as the Artistic Director of the Panoramic Voices<\/a> and has performed with the Grammy-nominated Conspirare Chamber Choir<\/a> and as pianist for the Austin New Music Co-op<\/a>. An accomplished guitarist, Brent took first place in the New England division of the Downeast Classical Guitar Competition and was a finalist in the Music Teachers\u2019 National Association<\/a> national guitar competition. As a conductor, he has directed more than a dozen world premieres. Brent has toured Europe as keyboardist for roots-reggae luminaries Laurel Aitken and Doreen Shaffer and plays guitar with local indie rockers Black Before Red<\/a> and The Normans<\/a>.
