Presented by The Veganistas of First UU and The Vegan Association of Austin

First UU is excited to welcome Lauren Bernick, an Austin-area health advocate, speaker, and educator, for a special talk on Sunday, September 6th, following the 11 am service.
Plant-based snacks (oil-free options welcome!) will be shared starting at 12:30 pm, with Lauren’s presentation beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a Q&A session.
In 2015, Lauren was diagnosed with coronary artery disease. Through a whole-food, plant-based diet, she reversed her diagnosis, lost weight, lowered her blood pressure, and regained her energy. She now hosts a popular podcast where she interviews plant-based doctors, longevity experts, and everyday people who are aging well, and she’ll share lessons from those conversations along with her own health journey.
“You’re in good hands. No one likes to eat as much as I do. I love eating a whole-food, plant-based diet because you can eat a lot and enjoy it immensely.” (Lauren Bernick)
This event is co-hosted by The Veganistas of First UU and The Vegan Association of Austin, two local groups dedicated to supporting the Austin community in exploring plant-based living.
You can learn more about Lauren and her work and can also download her free whole-food, plant-based cookbook. For more information, please visit www.wellelephant.com.
You don’t need any plant-based experience or a special diet to attend, just curiosity is welcome. All are invited, and guests are encouraged to bring a plant-based snack to share.
