The sermons reflect our congregation’s values of transformation, transcendence, community, compassion, and courage as well as Unitarian Universalist values of justice, equality, the inherent dignity of everyone, a search for truth and a respect for the interdependent web of life.

Services last approximately one hour and include singing, readings from secular or sacred sources, prayer, choral or instrumental music, a period of silent meditation accompanied by candle-lighting to reflect on joys and concerns, and a sermon. The Order of Service is posted in advance every week and includes the sermon topic, the hymns we will sing, and any music that will be performed during the service. Following each worship service is a social time where we gather to greet our visitors and fellowship with one another.

Children are welcome at our services. We normally have a Story for all Ages early in the service, where children are invited to come to the front to read a picture book or hear a story, after which they are excused to go to their religious education classes. Infant and toddler care is provided during the service and at all church events by paid, trained staff. Children may remain with their family for the whole service, if so desired, and a “quiet room” is available where parents can still view and hear the service. (Learn more about Children and Youth programs.)

The dress at Sunday services is as diverse as our congregation. The usual and standard dress for worship is casual. Although there are some congregants who come dressed in their “Sunday Best,” most are dressed informally.

Our facility is accessible to people with disabilities. People who need assistance or accommodation can contact the church in advance or speak with one of the usher/greeters before the service.
